Hampton HS Beta members volunteered today to help the Arkansas Food Bank distribute food to residents of Calhoun County. Students were joined this month by not only community volunteers, but workers from REA, Entergy and from the Corporate Offices of Arkansas Food Bank. We want to thank all of the students who showed up. They arranged their semester tests so that they could volunteer their time on this last day of school. Some of these kids have volunteered every month because they understand that this is a service to our community and to many families. People were blown away by how hard our kids worked. They did an excellent job of representing our School and Beta Club. Great job, Bulldogs!

HHS 8th grade student Elizabeth Escobar, participated in the Region 3 All-Region Honor Band December 13 & 14. Last week she auditioned against students from all across South Arkansas and was placed 4th on her instrument out of all those who participated from across all classifications from 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. At the clinic she had the opportunity to rehearse with approximately 100 other students. With just 8 hours of rehearsal, they performed a concert of music none of the students had seen before that day. Congratulations, Elizabeth for your outstanding achievement and hard work! You are a fine example of the exceptional students at Hampton High School. Go Bulldogs!

Ms. Harvey and Extension Office came to the High School today to talk about Social Media Safety with 7th and 8th Enrichment Classes. Afterwards, they built gingerbread houses! Thank you to the Extension Office!

Ms. Blankenship, High School Counselor, said the month of November the High School theme was 'Gratitude'. She provided a lesson on gratitude during that month and talked to students about gratitude. The students wrote on a note saying what they were grateful for or how they showed gratitude. Staff also participated in a turkey activity by writing why they were grateful for each other and put it on a cute turkey.
The Snowballs of Kindness is a similar activity for December. This month the theme is 'Mindfulness' and its importance during the holiday season. She put out a lesson and students are doing that activity. Snowballs of Kindness is the students' way of showing kindness to themselves and others during the holiday season! Ms. Blankenship is also working on another activity for the staff!

The Hampton High School Band and Choir held a Christmas Concert last night. Thank you to everyone for coming out to support these young people! Videos have been posted on Facebook if you were unable to attend. Way to go, Bulldogs! Great job!
